~

I don’t have the time to publish an IMM post every week. Because of this, I’m going to write every month an IMM post and show you what I bought. These are my March bargains:

Mangas:

Akuma To Love Song Band 1/ Devil and Her Love Song Vol. 1:

English:

Meet Maria Kawai—she’s gorgeous and whip-smart, a girl who seems to have it all. But when she unleashes her sharp tongue, it’s no wonder some consider her to be the very devil! Maria’s difficult ways even get her kicked out of an elite school, but this particular fall may actually turn out to be her saving grace…

Maria’s frank nature gains her more enemies at her new school, but her angelic singing voice inadvertently catches the attention of Yusuke Kanda and Shin Meguro. Can these boys mend her hardened heart, or will they just end up getting scorched?

Kiss and Hug Band 2/Vol.2

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Band 6/ Vol.6

Kobato Band 6/Vol.6

Bücher/ Books:

The Hunger Games – Suzanne Collins

Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. But Katniss has been close to death before – and survival, for her, is second nature. “The Hunger Games” is a searing novel set in a future with unsettling parallels to our present. Welcome to the deadliest reality TV show ever…

Crescendo – Becca Fitzpatrick

Nora should know better than to think her life can return to normal after falling in love with a fallen angel. And Nora’s life isn’t normal – her dad was murdered, and the facts about his death just don’t add up. Now Nora’s own life is in imminent danger. Are she and Patch strong enough for the battle ahead?

Timeless – Alexandra Monir

When tragedy strikes Michele Windsor’s world, she is forced to uproot her life and move across the country to New York City, to live with the wealthy, aristocratic grandparents she’s never met. In their old Fifth Avenue mansion filled with a century’s worth of family secrets, Michele discovers a diary that hurtles her back in time to the year 1910. There, in the midst of the glamorous Gilded Age, Michele meets the young man with striking blue eyes who has haunted her dreams all her life – a man she always wished was real, but never imagined could actually “exist.” And she finds herself falling for him, into an otherworldly, time-crossed romance. Michele is soon leading a double life, struggling to balance her contemporary high school world with her escapes into the past. But when she stumbles upon a terrible discovery, she is propelled on a race through history to save the boy she loves – a quest that will determine the fate of both of their lives.

Reincarnation – Suzanne Weyn

From prehistory to the present, theirs was a love for the ages. It starts with a fight in a cave over an elusive green jewel . . . and then travels over time and lives to include Egyptian slaves, Greek temples, Massachusetts witch trials, Civil War battlefields, Paris on the eve of World War II, America in the 1960s . . . and a pair of modern-day teenagers. For readers who believe that love is stronger than time or death, this is an unforgettable novel from a wonderful storyteller.

Delirium – Lauren Oliver

They say that the cure for Love will make me happy and safe forever. And I’ve always believed them. Until now. Now everything has changed. Now, I’d rather be infected with love for the tiniest sliver of a second than live a hundred years smothered by a lie.

Clockwork Angel – Cassandra Clare

Tessa is soon caught in a dangerous love triangle where a wrong decision could prove fatal. She will need all her strength to save her brother and stay alive as she learns the chilling truth of what really lurks on London’s streets after dark.

Clockwork Prince – Cassandra Clare

Still reeling from her terrifying confrontation with the Magister and her brother’s betrayal, Tessa Gray is drawn ever deeper into the Shadowhunter’s dark underworld of demons and danger. In a desperate attempt to help her friends, Tessa tries to uncover the truth about the Magister and learns that blames the Shadowhunters for the murder of his parents nearly a half century ago. But who were his parents, and why did the Shadowhunters kill them? Determined to unravel the secrets of his past, Tessa, Will and Jem journey to mist-shrouded Yorkshire, only to encounter corrupt Shadowhunters more intent on burying the past than finding the Magister – a past that holds the key not only to the enemy’s motivations and weakness, but to the secret of what Tessa really is and what she was born to do. Meanwhile, Tessa’s feelings for Jem and Will are growing more complicated, and soon she is forced to acknowledge that any choice she makes will either save the Shadowhunters of London – or end them for ever.

Angelfire - Courtney Allison Moulton

First there are nightmares. Every night Ellie is haunted by terrifying dreams of monstrous creatures that are hunting her, killing her. Then come the memories. When Ellie meets Will, she feels on the verge of remembering something just beyond her grasp. His attention is intense and romantic, and Ellie feels like her soul has known him for centuries. On her seventeenth birthday, on a dark street at midnight, Will awakens Ellie’s power, and she knows that she can fight the creatures that stalk her in the grim darkness. Only Will holds the key to Ellie’s memories, whole lifetimes of them, and when she looks at him, she can no longer pretend anything was just a dream. Now she must hunt. Ellie has power that no one can match, and her role is to hunt and kill the reapers that prey on human souls. But in order to survive the dangerous and ancient battle of the angels and the Fallen, she must also hunt for the secrets of her past lives and truths that may be too frightening to remember.

Halo - Alexandra Adornetto

Three angels are sent down to bring good to the world: Gabriel, the warrior; Ivy, the healer; and Bethany, a teenage girl who is the least experienced of the trio. But she is the most human, and when she is romantically drawn to a mortal boy, the angels fear she will not be strong enough to save anyone-especially herself-from the Dark Forces. Is love a great enough power against evil?

Eigene Meinung:

Note: My english is a little bit rusty! So please be patient with me!

My opinion:

Have you watched or read “The Timetraveller’s Wife” by Audrey Niffenegger? The action is slow-paced. No suspense. It’s just past meets future and you start to wonder, what this book wants to convey to its readers. Just as you are thinking of dropping it, the story reaches its turning point and suddenly everything changes. The story is still about past meeting future, but now the timetraveller has a task but to fulfuill his task, he has to interfere into the past and change the future.

I love timetraveller stories, because the timetraveller as a child does not know anything about his power and even though he hasn’t changed the past as a child, he learns more about past events he/she enabled in the future, but doesn’t know this as a child. (I’m not sure if you get my point but I hope you do!) And this is what happens to Michele. She grows up with her greatgrandmother’s music, not knowing that she encouraged her great grandmother to fulfill her dream. Isn’t this just fascinating?

I love the idea that the past, the present and the future exist side by side. It is captivating and impressive.  Did you know that in theory timetravelling is possible? But be prepared: The book ends with a HUGE cliffhanger and the second book in this series will be published in december! December!!

You should read this book if you loved and enjoyed Niffenegger’s book.
